Believe in Eternal Love...Believe in the Afterlife...Believe in Revenge...Believe in Angels...
People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with the soul and the soul cant rest. And sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right.
The Crow mythology is based upon an ancient Navaho belief of the crow being the messanger of death and the transporter of souls. James O'Barr, the creator of The Crow graphic novel series, used this mythos to develop a vengeful, grief-driven hero, which has resulted in the creation of numerous
graphic novels, two feature length
films (soon to be three), and a television series.
It is Devil's Night in the inner city, a fiery eve of decadence and debauchery, when a working-class rocker, Eric Draven and his fiancee are brutally murdered by Top Dollar's gang. Exactly one year later, Eric is ressurected by forces he cannot explain and returns to the city of his demise to exact his revenge.
Endowed with supernatural strength and vision, and guided by a hypnotic black crow - the spirit guide between the world of the living and the relm of the dead - Eric avenges his pain by taking down the city's master criminal and his urban thugs.
The Crow is an action film adaptaion of James O'Barr's graphic novel series, starring Brandon Lee as Eric Draven. Unfortunatly, during the filming of the movie, production was stalled due to a tragedy on the set when Brandon Lee was shot dead with a prop gun. The movie was eventually finished and released in 1993. Since its release it has earned a strong cult following and lead to the release of a second movie, The Crow: City of Angels.
